2015/16 leadership team
Nancy Regular is in her fifth and final year of a Women’s Studies Degree at the University of Calgary. She is an intersectional feminist and is passionate about implementing enthusiastic consent in sex education. Nancy loves knitting, dogs, and being near the water.
Alisha Ostberg in her third year of Communications Studies at the University of Calgary. She volunteers with the CASE Club in her spare time, as well as singing with a choir. After getting involved with CASE in her first year, Alisha is looking forward to a great year of improving sexual education with a fantastic club!
Community Commissioner - Male Allies
Pavit Sidhu is a 5th year student double majoring in International Relations and Development studies with minors in Japanese and East Asian Studies. He’s interested in the interplay of economics, politics, history, gender, culture and, linguistics and how that affects policy and development, particularly in the way language used when forming policy and its implications. He also has an interested in feminist issues, having been volunteering at the Women’s Resource Center for over 4 years and going into his 3rd year with the Consent Awareness and Sexual Education Club. He is also the current VP Events and former President of the Japanese Conversation and Culture Club at the University of Calgary.
Shelby is a fourth year student with a Development Studies major and a Women's Studies minor. She loves all things feminism, growing food, and being in the backcountry.
VP volunteer and student enagement
Sydney is a fifth year student with a combined degree in Women’s Studies and Global Development Studies, with minors in Political Science and Indigenous Studies. She hopes to enter graduate school when she is finished and earn a PhD in an attempt to make a difference through research and teaching. Sydney is passionate about all things related to the pursuit of social justice and is obsessed with feminism (because its super cool). She runs competitive track and field and enjoy hiking and veganism.
Briana Stallcup is in her third year of pursuing a degree in Economics and Political Science. Her goal is to work in public policy, specifically on behalf of the United States and other countries. The study of these fields has only deepened her passion for women’s rights, and along with her own personal traumas, has brought her to CASE. She sees CASE as a stepping stone to reaching and impacting global levels of systemic sexism and the issues it creates. Outside of academia, Briana loves horror movies, aquatic activities, animals, and Texas.
Jennah Martens-Forrester is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Calgary pursuing a combined degree in both Cultural Anthropology and Development Studies with a minor in International Indigenous Studies. She wishes to eventually enter graduate school to earn her PhD and become a research fellow and to travel a great deal throughout her life. She is a Peer Support and Community Outreach Volunteer for the Women's Resource Centre, and has been a founding member of the Consent Awareness and Sexual Education Club (CASE) since it first received its sanction from the university, serving as VP Student Engagement in its first year (2013-2014) and is currently serving as VP Academic. She also serves as VP Student Engagement for the Calgary chapter of Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR) and is a member of many other student organizations such as the WSF, WIL and the Undergraduate Anthropology Association (The Kula Ring).
VP Operations & Finance
Kim Stafford is in her final-ish year of her degree from the Haskayne School of Business with a major in operations. She loves cats, carbs, and jazz music. This is Kim's second year of being the VP Operations and Finance for CASE and she loves it nearly as much as she loves watching Netflix in bed.
Hilary Jahelka is going into her 5th and final year of her women's studies degree. She works for the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services and loves the work that she does. While consent and sexual education are her main passions Hilary also loves the ocean. Growing up on Vancouver Island she would spend as much time as possible on the beach, being a mermaid. Stepping down from her role as President last year, Hilary is excited to carry on into her 3rd year with CASE as the VP External. #IBelieveYou
Sara is a second year undergraduate student completing her Bsc. In Biology. She hopes to promote consent and equity in the sciences by being involved in CASE. She is actively involved in Women in science issues as well as tackling the larger issues of diversity and equity in the sciences. The previous year she worked with CASE as a junior executive and she is excited to be VP internal this school year. Other than school she loves to play the cello and collect rocks.
